

Winifred was born in Cirencester, England on March 31, 1924. She was a war bride and became a U.S citizen after raising six children with her late husband, Reid. She was a devoted member of the Shreveport Methodist Church, where her faith and dedication were evident through her active participation in the church's UMW and her commitment as secretary for Circle 13. Winifred was an avid reader, politically engaged Republican, excellent knitter, crossword puzzle queen, and had a love for chocolates and sweets of any kind, along with volunteering for meals on wheels for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Austin and Victoria Bowley; husband, Reid Straub and one sister, Joan.
Winifred is survived by her children, Clyde Straub and wife Beverly of Houghton Lake, Michigan, Jeffery Straub and wife Brenda of Lake Orion, Michigan, Dan Straub of Santa Barbara, California, Roma Burcham and husband Gary of Haughton, Louisiana, Penny Glaesar of Charlottesville, Virginia, and John Straub of Belleview, Florida; 13 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Savannah Grand, ABC Sitter Service and Passages Hospice for their kindness and care. Special thanks to Reverend Carl Rhodes for the many years of visits and caring.
Services will be held at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida, where she will be reunited with her late husband, Reid.
