Daniel Scott Alter lived 59 years with a brilliance, passion, and vigor that made every moment count.
Born on March 15, 1967, Danny was the son of Madi and Bruce Alter, the devoted husband of his beloved MJ, and the cherished brother and brother in law of his older brother Jonathan and Jonathan’s wife Marci. He was also the proud and adoring Uncle Danny to his nephews Jordan and Zach.
Danny grew up in New Rochelle, NY before attending the University of Virginia. He loved UVA with his whole being. He later earned his law degree from the University of Miami School of Law, following his father and brother into the legal profession.
Danny was an extraordinary golfer, and died tragically and unexpectedly doing what he loves best.
Danny was a force of nature. He cared about people of every background and was, in the truest sense, blind to the divisions that separate so many of us. Danny loved helping others and sharing stories. He lived with a smile on his face - always ready to laugh.
When Danny met MJ, he found his perfect partner. They shared the same humor, the same love of travel, and the same gift for making friends everywhere.
Danny was devoted to his parents to the end.
He stepped up in every way to those around him with quiet dependability.
He will be profoundly missed.
