I always called David the “Big Guy” because he was larger than life in every way you can imagine - personality, intellect, and great stories were always in store when he was around. He was like an uncle to my kids and the best friend I’ve ever had. Even as I write this I’m flooded with memories of good times, laughs and fun. 

David loved his crew from Camp Echo Lake, and picking stocks and talking politics and current events. It seemed he had almost endless stories about pretty much everything, and he was incredibly generous in spirit - so many days he made me smile. When my grandmother passed he sent the kindest and most thoughtful gift of anyone, and he barely knew her. That’s just the kind of guy he was. 

I’m really blessed to have had a friend like him and there’s just no way to replace him.  I’m thankful for the memories and David’s friendship for so many years. We are really going to miss you Biggie. 

David you were Patrick’s best fiend. You called him almost  every day. We were at his grandmothers funeral when you passed. Patrick will miss you so very very much. With love from chrisann gibson

I knew David from my days of in New Rochelle and from Camp Echo Lake (CEL).  I will always remember David (Heimo) as a joyful man and full of life with a kind heard and a wonderful sense of humor.  He will be missed.  May his memory always be a blessing.

I did not know David personally however I grew up in New Rochelle and was touched deeply by all the postings. I am so terribly sorry. My father, Judge Sandy Scher, recently passed away the end of February and is in Sharon Gardens as well.  My sincere thoughts and prayers are with everyone during this most difficult time and always. To the Heim Family,

I am so sorry to hear of David’s passing. I met Heimo (David) at Camp Echo Lake in the early 80.‘s.  David grew up with my brother Lee as they were campers and Cit’s together.  David and I always had a special bond.  He was like another big brother to me.  He loved working in the kitchen staff at CEL, being able to talk to everyone he came across of.  We shared a bond for the Montreal Canadiens, we all really believe he would move to Montreal if he could.  Thinking of you all during the hard time. Just know that David touched so many people’s lives.  We will all miss him so much. Love, Marni Wise
