Hey Doug, 
Can’t believe it’s been 3 years since your passing. Although you have transitioned, it feels like you are still here on the rock we all rent. I remember talking with you at length just a few months before you unexpectedly left us - - remembering our youth, full of energy, stories and yarns. Reminding me if things I had forgotten - - what kop, such a memory you have. And the advice you gave me. Priceless. Motivating. Compassionate. You were a loyal friend to all of us and are missed. Our 50th High School reunion is around the corner. If I can attend, I’ll make sure we remember you appropriately. I’m sure you’re still making everyone laugh and feel at ease. Since I'm not on social media I'm only just learning of Dougs passing. It was wonderful reading other people's messages of love and sadness at his passing. Doug loved to tell me about how his mother and my mother pushed strollers together in Riverdale back when we were just a few months old. My father coached him and our families were pretty close. I remember the big X on his football helmet in 6th grade because he was too big to be allowed to touch the ball! He was also our kicker:-) crazy to go so young but God bless to him on his next Journey.

My fondest memories of Doug were from our high school and college poker games.  So many hilarious stories.  Doug was such a character - always made me smile when I spoke to him.  So sorry to hear of his passing.  RIP my friend.

So many memories of Doug.  He was a dominant player on our undefeated, unscored upon 6th Grade Football Team and again a star on our 8th grade undefeated team as well.  Doug joins QRS Football teammate Andy Green of blessed memory in the Fields of our Thoughts and Dreams.  
Doug loved to tell a story and often had a smile and a chuckle in his delivery.  Memories of Poker in high school and seeing him over the years at the barber shop in Wykagyl (before he went Kojak style) that Keith Schneider, Andy Gans and others used to frequent (Bruce Laxer and I still do) .
I will always smile when remembering Doug.  RIP.

Doug had a great zest for life. I remember playing guitar and drumbs together and riding the school bus.  I lived 2 house up the street from him and we were good friends in elementary school.   We hadn't been in touch over the years, but i remember him well.  I am so sorry that he passed as it was much too soon.  He was a wonderful guy and his kindness only grew as we got older.  My deepest sympathy to all his loved ones.

Very sad to have heard about Doug’s passing. I wasn’t in touch with him much over the past years but it was great seeing him at the 30th and the 40th high school reunions. Back in the QRS days, we spent A LOT of time together - playing organized sports and backyard/driveway/Crossway Field sports together.  When I think about the old neighborhood, it amazes me that Doug, Mike Gunst, Denise Kessler, Janice Rubin, Jody Jacobson, Karen Pravda, Amy Delugg and I all lived on essentially on one long street. So many others from our grade lived so close by too. We were very lucky and experienced something special. 

The last correspondence I had with Doug was back in December of 2020 when we were reminiscing about 8th grade football via email.  As I reread those emails today, Doug’s warmth and friendship shined through. RIP Doug. 

In the 8th grade we won the B league championship largely because of how dominant Doug played. We went to kindergarten together and I last saw him at our high school reunion. He will be missed. 

Such a wonderful guy. A great athlete. An amazing storyteller. A loyal friend who always looked after me at school and in the sports fields.  Glad to have reconnected with Doug a few years back and glad to have been able to continue our conversations. I recently spoke with Doug who was as jovial as ever, compassionate and sincere as he consoled me over the recent loss of my father. He even remembered a few events interacting with all of us that I had forgotten, which made me smile. Love ya Doug. Sending peace, love and strength to your family and friends. You will be missed my friend. The stars just received an amazing fast ball.

Very glad you reached out a couple of years ago and had a chance to reconnect all these years later. I remember watching your house when your family was on vacation sometime around 1972 when I was a teenager. I remember the bear your father shot and stuffed (when those things were more readily accepted).  I remember your driveway in winter and the friendship we shared for years. My condolences to the family.
