

Francesco Praino, who was born on March 14, 1948, in Cassano All’lonio, Italy, passed away on October 28, 2025, at the age of 77. Francesco was a beloved resident of Wappingers Falls, New York. He was the son of Salvatore Praino and Emelia Schettini. Sadly, he was preceded in death by his six brothers, Pedro, Giuseppe, Attilio, Luigi, Mario, and Alfredo. Francesco was married to Joy Faith Grossman for a wonderful 52 years. They have five children: Zacarias, Stefan, Wesley, Joshua, and Ariel, and four grandchildren: Nathan, Tyler, Asher, and Cole. Francesco’s journey began when he was just seven years old, migrating with his family from Italy to Montevideo, where he attended school to learn the trade of being an auto mechanic. At 19, he made the move to the United States, where he worked at Kayson Chevrolet as an auto mechanic and met the love of his life, Joy. For 27 years, he dedicated himself to working on the assembly line at General Motors in Tarrytown, NY, and Linden, NJ. During his time, he also worked for Carmody Construction for 25 years as the head equipment mechanic. After leaving Carmody Construction in 2008, he started working at Gianfia Corp in Hawthorne, NY, for 15 years until his unexpected passing. Francesco was a truly honest, loyal, caring, hardworking, and sincere husband, father, and grandfather. He had a heart of gold and always went above and beyond for everyone he met. Francesco was deeply loved and cherished, and he will be deeply missed by all.
Funeral Services for Francesco will be held on Friday, October 31, 2025 1PM at The Riverside Memorial Chapel 100 Saw Mill River Road Hawthorne, New York 10532. Following Services, interment will be at the Sharon Gardens Cemetery 273 Lakeview Avenue Valhalla, New York 10595.
