
George Bernard Wasserman, a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away on February 19, 2015, the day before his 84th birthday. Born in Cologne, Germany in 1931, he came to the United States with his parents in 1938. After attending Brooklyn Technical High School and New York University, Mr. Wasserman served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He later received his MBA from Columbia University. After a distinguished 30 year career at IBM, he became a partner at Temple Barker Sloane and Mercer Consulting. He was active in the Jewish community, serving as President of Scarsdale Synagogue in Scarsdale, New York and later as President of Am Hayam, the Cape Cod havurah group. He was a resident of Orleans, Massachusetts and Tucson, Arizona. Mr. Wasserman is survived by his wife of 57 years, Renate Wasserman, children Sherri (and John) Goodman, Lauren (and Thom McLeod), and David (and Carolyn) Wasserman, and 10 grandchildren: Natalie, Robert and Matthew Goodman, Madeline, Amanda, and Olivia McLeod, and Daniel, Joshua, Adam and Hannah Wasserman. The funeral service will be held at 1:30 pm on Monday February 23 at Scarsdale Synagogue, Scarsdale New York. Contributions can be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
