Harriet Abrahami, our vibrant and indomitable mother, died on November 1, 2023, after a brief illness. She would have celebrated her 95th birthday on December 24. Born in Brooklyn in 1928, she attended New Utrecht High School, cheered on the Brooklyn Dodgers and developed her formidable organizational and management skills as the Executive Assistant to the President of Israel Bonds during the 1950s. She moved with her young family to New Rochelle, NY in 1970, where she has resided ever since. She brought energy, organization, tenaciousness, kindness and sharp humor to everything she did, including leadership roles and projects for her beloved Bayberry community and for Vernon Plating Works, the company founded by her husband with the help of a loan of much of her savings, as well as in running her own household over the years.
Harriet radiated love and warmth toward the people around her, and cherished her family deeply. She is survived by her children, Rachelle and her partner Bill Gordon, and Zev Abraham and his wife Karen; and grandchildren Ethan and Jeremy Abraham and Eli Bel Haj Larbi. She was predeceased by her daughter Naomi, Eli’s mom. Her former husband Kenneth (Chaim) Abrahami, with whom she shared a deep care and concern throughout her life, also survives her. We thank the special friends and caregivers who enriched her life and took such good care of her emotionally and physically in her later years.
Harriet’s funeral will be held on Friday, November 3, 2023 at 1:30 PM at Riverside Memorial Chapel, 101 Saw Mill River Road, Hawthorne, NY.

May Harriet’s memory be a blessing.
