My deepest sympathy to Barbara, Jerry, Andy, Peggy and their families on the passing of Herman. We worked together at the Friars Club. On behalf of the former staff members ,the Board and the members we thank Herman for his many years of service to the Friars Club.

Herm was a close friend from way back when we were  playing Bridge on the commuter train to NYC and aiming ripostes at the kibitzers in the aisles. We went our separate ways when we joined with opposing political parties but always remained friends, so different from today.
Truly impressed that Herm held out  for the time it took to continue as an inspiration to family and friends by celebrating a 75th Wedding Anniversary with Barbara before he sadly left us. 
May his memory be a blessing for all; it will always be for me.

I have known Herman and Barbara for most of my life, as they were close and dear friends to my parents.  Herman was a guiding light for me,  providing guidance to my consulting career.  He brought me into the Friar's Club (for computerization), with introductions to the wonderful and supportive staff, and executive director.  Herman loved people, and people loved him.

My wife and I send our condolences to Barbara and the rest of his family.

I had first met Mr Geist in the city of Pilsen in the Czech Republic.  He was always so warm and friendly .  He was so kind to allow me to come to his home and record his story during his service in the army during World War 2.  You are in my prayers sir.

I had the opportunity to know Herman through the National Association of Counties (NACo), as I worked my way through the officer chairs.  He was friendly, kind and engaging.  We kept in touch through Facebook, over the years, and he will be missed.

I only knew Herman through his radio show on WVOX.  I was a regular caller and I always enjoyed our conversations about events of the day and much more.  He was an American patriot and his memory will live with me.

I remember him  so fondly. He work with me at Rich Plan for so many years. Great person in all ways. 

So sorry for the loss of such a great man.

Herman was a mentor to me  for several years at the New York Friars Club., after Fran and I had been members of the Beverly Hills Friars Club for about 25 years.   Although we didn't always agree, he was just such a NICE and sweet guy.  I loved his smile kinda' like a father to me and I'm sure to countless others.       

Loved ya' Herman - we all do....

P.S. My aunt - with no dementia = will be 108 years \"young" in three weeks.

Herman was a fellow Friar, a guiding light and a friend who’ll be missed.  He lived a full life and leaves behind a rich legacy.  My sadness over his passing and my condolences to his family.

He was there to help in situations where he had immense knowledge or just to support you.
