Judith Laitman

Born to Maurice and Anna Reff of Astoria, Queens, Judith (Judy), was the eldest of 5 children.

Judy was a lively, genuine, person who lived a full and wonderful life. She earned her bachelor’s degree as well as a master’s degree in Spanish from Queens college. In 1955 she met and married Mitch Laitman and eventually they settled in Great Neck, NY. Together, they had three children; enjoyed family, theater, travel and dining out. They had many close friends, and their home was always a warm and welcoming gathering place. They were together until Mitch’s passing in 1998.

For over two decades Judy worked as an office manager for a large banking firm in Manhattan. She soaked up all that New York had to offer and often went to museums, Broadway shows, opera and many other cultural events.

Judy’s greatest joy was her family. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and sharing her love of NY culture with them.

We will always carry her memory in our hearts.

Judy is survived by her children Kevin (Liz), Sherry (Jim) and Gary (Orli). Her grandchildren Sarah (Nate), Eric, Caroline (Adam), James, Jacob, Jesse, Julia and Michael. Her great-grandchildren Avery and Maeve.

She is preceded in death by her husband Mitch, her sisters Arlene and Irene and her brothers Herbie and David.

Funeral Services for Judith will take place Friday May 31, 2024 9:30AM at The Riverside Memorial Chapel 100 Saw Mill River Road Hawthorne, New York 10532.
