Phyllis Wasson, 71, died July 9, 2026. Born May 21, 1955, in New York City, Phyllis was the daughter of Samuel and Blanche Lossef. She earned a Bachelor’s degree and carried that foundation of learning into a life defined by steady devotion to others and quiet strength of purpose.
Phyllis built her professional life as an occupational therapist, serving with skill and compassion until her retirement in 2019. In work that asked for both patience and understanding, she offered care that was thoughtful, attentive, and deeply human—qualities that reflected the way she moved through the world.
A resident of Olney, Maryland, Phyllis found joy in the everyday beauty of art, needlepoint, reading, and music. These interests spoke to a reflective spirit and a gentle appreciation for creativity and comfort—things she both cherished and shared with those around her.
Above all, Phyllis will be remembered as a loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Mitchell; her son, Andrew; her daughter-in-law, Libby; her grandchildren, Adelina, Charlotte, and Bella; and her brother, Steven Lossef. Her presence in their lives was steady and generous, and her memory will remain a lasting source of gratitude and love.
