

Jane M. was born March 18, 1918 in Brookston, PA the daughter of Kazimer and Helen (Sowa) Matuskiewicz. She was raised in Chicago, IL and graduated from high school there. On October 22, 1938 she was joined in marriage to Joseph Pogwizd in Chicago. During World War II Jane was a “Rosie the Riveter” who worked on B-29 Bombers construction and soldering electronics to help support the war effort. After the war Jane worked for several engineering companies as a bookkeeper while living in LaGrange Park, IL. In 1970 Jane moved to Cable, WI. Jane was a member of the quilting club and was an artist and crafter. She enjoyed painting, ceramics, knitting, crocheting and weaving rugs. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Jane is survived by her son, Terry (Beverly) Pogwizd of Cable, WI; two grandchildren, Jeanne Lyn (Robert) Starling of Las Vegas, NV, Michael Terry (Natalie Walter) Pogwizd of Cable, WI; three great grandchildren, Rebekah Pogwizd, Melinda (Joseph) Nerad, both of Milwaukee, WI, Olivia Rose Pogwizd of Cable; one sister, Helen Topak of La Grange Park, IL; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joseph; five brothers and one sister.
