

Larry Allen Froemel was born November 29, 1948 in Hayward, WI the son of Otto and Margaret (Martin) Froemel. He was raised in Hayward and graduated from Hayward High School in 1966. From a young age Larry’s passion was music. He formed his first band in high school and started playing in the Hayward area. On March 17, 1968 Larry was united in marriage to Linda Jean Ledbeter. Larry started work for the Township of Bass Lake in 1969. While working he continued his love of music and created the band, Larry and the Drifters. His band played throughout the northern Wisconsin area as well as traveling to other states to perform country western music. After 41 years of service to Bass Lake Township, Larry retired as a Road Crew Chief. He adored his wife, Linda and loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren. He will be remembered for his cowboy hat and boots that he wore everywhere, his kindness, understanding and supportive nature.
Larry is survived by his wife of 47 years, Linda; three children, Kim Metropulos of Hayward, Renea Froemel of Hayward, Glen Froemel and his husband Mark LeBlanc of Minneapolis, MN; five grandchildren, Brooke, Dani and Cassidy Metropulos, Ben and Emma Froemel; two brothers, Jerry (Dee) and Alan Froemel of Hayward; one sister, Shirley (Dan) Lemke, of Holcombe, WI; brother-in-law, Clarence Stellner; sister-in-law, Judy Froemel; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Roger and Bob Froemel and one sister, Marlene Stellner.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 5th, at Anderson-Nathan-Koerpel Funeral Home in Hayward. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday and from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home in Hayward. Interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Hayward.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to American Heart Association.
