Born June 7, 1944 in Ithaca, NY, to Everett and Rosalie Milner, she was the oldest of three children. Punky graduated from Sun Prairie (WI) High School where her mother taught and where she met the love of her life, Douglas. On January 18, 1964, she married her high school sweetheart, Douglas M. Reinen. They recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in Hilton Head, SC, where they discovered their second home during retirement as well as many new friends and lasting memories. Together, they raised a son, Todd, who inherited his mom's kindness, her sincerity, her compassion, her sensitivity and who knew everyday that he was loved beyond his wildest dreams. She would do anything for her son, and he considered her his best friend. She loved gardening, golf, camping, traveling (by land, not by air) and day trips with Doug, and she had an incredible flair for decorating their home. Their home always included at least one beloved pet, especially a favorite cat of hers and Cajun, who she'll be able to walk each day now. She was the most kind and selfless person who was adored by everyone who knew her. Her voice may have been soft spoken and quiet, but her smile and love were considerable. During her battle with ALS, she lost her voice, but she never lost her smile or her warm heart. She used her notepad and pen to welcome a daughter-in-law and a granddaughter into her life recently, but it was her thumbs-up, her smile and the love in her eyes that truly expressed how much love she felt.
She is survived by her husband, Doug, who comforted her, who held her hand every minute of the day and who will always love her with all of his heart; her son, Todd (Rhonda), who is who he is because of her love and who will miss her kiss forever; mother, Rosalie Milner; brother, Curt (Rosemary) Milner; brother Doug Milner; granddaughter Taylor Baumgardner; as well as many loved relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her dad, Everett Milner and nephew, Michael Milner.
