Sophie Rosemary Marut Szarowicz

Sophie Rosemary Marut was born October 1, 1924 in Weyerhaeuser, WI the daughter of Martin and Agnes (Popek) Marut. She was raised and attended school in Weyerhaeuser. On November 14, 1942 she was joined in marriage to Frank W. Szarowicz in Weyerhaeuser. Together they moved to Illinois for a few years before moving to Radisson, WI. Sophie was a busy homemaker raising her four daughters. She also worked on the family farm and at local resorts. Sophie enjoyed golfing, gardening, various kinds of craftwork, and playing card games. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Radisson.

Sophie is survived by three daughters, Dianne (Tony) Gutowski of Exeland, WI, Cindy (Greg) Langille of Fond Du Lac, WI, Kathleen Haney of Denver, CO; eleven grandchildren; many great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and special friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank; one daughter, Marilyn Rankin; five brothers and one sister.
