Truth Beatrice Sohn was born March 6, 1921, in Beatrice, Nebraska, where she spent a happy childhood. After high school, she worked for a wealthy family and was thus able to travel all over America. While in Florida, she met Victor Sterling Wall, Jr., and sparks flew. They married and settled in Atlanta, Georgia, where Trudy spent her life as a busy homemaker, raising three daughters and taking care of her family. She loved music and dancing, reading, gardening, and she was a talented chef and seamstress. After her husband’s death, she and daughter Victoria moved to Hayward in 2000 to be near her brothers.
Trudy was preceded in death by her parents, Herman Sohn and Regina Oakland Sohn, sisters Vivian and Evaro, brothers Howard, Bob, Pat, and Tommy, husband Victor, daughter Rebecca, spirit-daughter Mary Louise, and niece, Susan.
Trudy is survived by daughters Victoria Wall Johnson of Hayward and Sherrill Wall Rutherford of Lilburn, Georgia, beloved son-in-law Kevin Rutherford, grandsons Matthew Johnson and Nicholas Rutherford and niece Sally Lewis.
Trudy was loved by everyone who ever knew her. She was a gentle soul who radiated love and caring. Her family extends its gratitude to the staffs of Hayward Memorial Hospital and Water’s Edge for their excellent care. They all loved her, too.
Cremation is being handled by Anderson-Nathan-Koerpel Funeral Home. A celebration of life will take place when Spring arrives…if it ever does!
