Alan was born in Blythe California on May 5, 1941. His parents eventually relocated their family to Olivehurst, California where he and his two older brothers would grow through their teenage years. It was here that Alan would meet Maybelle Gadberry who would become his wife of 64 years and was the love of his life.
Alan was proud to serve our country in the US Army. Following his discharge from the Army, Alan moved his young family to Alaska where he spent the next few years working for Tidewater Marine. In 1970 he moved his family back to California and continued work in the offshore oil business becoming a respected corporate and technical leader.
Through the early years of his career Alan would prove to be a consistent observer and student of business. He developed a keen acumen for business and determined to set out on his own. In 1982 he moved his family to Hemet, California and acquired three NAPA Auto Parts stores. The stores were in the Inland Empire region. Over the following 37 years the business would flourish under his leadership expanding to five stores.
Alan was very skilled in almost everything he did and would often tell people he was a jack of all trades but a master of none. However, just as his penchant for observation developed him for business, he would accel at any endeavor that grasped his attention.
Alan was not boastful of his accomplishments. But, he was proud of his family and loved them dearly. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family and friends. However, above all, he enjoyed spending time with his wife, May Callahan, more than anything. He and May traveled across the United States in his motorhome visiting family and exploring new destinations making new friends along the way.
Alan was preceded by his parents Wilford Lee Callahan and Sadie Lois (Richardson) Callahan as well as his brothers Wayne and Marvin.
He is survived by his wife, May Callahan, his sons Timothy Alan Callahan (wife Carla) and Brian Lee Callahan (wife Sondra), his four grandchildren and his six great grandchildren.
