

Alfred was born in Southampton, England on August 11, 1930. He came to the United States by ship when he was 15 years old. He arrived in Washington State where he enlisted in the USMC. While he was stationed in Korea he became a US citizen, and was transferred to El Toro where he met his wife Gayla on the Long Beach Pike. After 4 years of service with the USMC he was discharged and joined Los Angeles Police Department where he served and protected the citizens of Los Angeles for 20 years. After retiring from the police department he and his wife Gayla moved to Mt. Shasta, CA where they built their home, made great friends and spent many years fishing and enjoying life together. As he aged, his heart started to fail him and he and Gayla moved to Moreno Valley, CA so their daughter, Violet could be close to them. After 5 years living in Moreno Valley, he passed away on September 16, 2013. Alfred is survived by his wife Gayla of 60 years, his daughter Violet, his daughter's best friend Leslye, who he thought of and treated like a daughter and his two dogs Peppy and Missy.
Alfred was loved very much and will be greatly missed.
