He married his high-school sweetheart and love of his life, Eloise in 1955. He is survived by his wife Eloise Jimenez; his three daughters - Diane (Rick) Dellefield, Deborah (Kirk) Brantley and Linda Montour; and his two sons - Ray (Yadira) Jimenez and Robert Jimenez; 10 Grandchildren and 1 Great-Grandchild; His Brother Hector Jimenez; and two Sisters Rosa Randolph and Gloria Hernandez.
Armando proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1952 - 1955. He is a Korean war-time veteran and served aboard the USS Wasp CVS 18, one of the premier aircraft carriers serving the Korean War.
Armando was the owner of Golden State Carriers and worked very hard to ensure the success of his trucking business. He was a hands-on employer and loved to be involved with every aspect of the business until his retirement.
Affectionately known as "Grandpapa" , he loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed times when the entire family was together for special events. He adored his grandchildren and was so happy being a grandfather. He loved watching football games (any team from Texas could be considered a favorite), going to the casinos, traveling and watching old western movies. He was a patient man in caring for his wife after she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. In his last days, he was most concerned about her care. He cared deeply about his entire family. We will always love him and miss him. He will be 'Forever in Our Hearts'.
The family wishes to acknowledge Companion Hospice and express their sincere appreciation and gratitude for the excellent care provided by his nursing team (Mabel, Paul, Alan & Richard) during his final days.
