

On Tuesday, January 3, 2023, A. Arthur Asper, Jr passed away in Hemet, CA after celebrating his 90th birthday. Art was born in Goshen, Indiana to Aaron and Mary Asper on January 2, 1933. He was raised in Upland, CA. After graduating from Chaffey High School in Ontario, CA he attended and graduated from the University of New Mexico, receiving a Bachelors of Arts in Business Administration. While at UNM, he met the love of his life, Marian. Their grand life adventure and love affair lasted for 54 years until Marian preceded him in death in 2010.
Arthur was a commissioned officer in the United States Navy and served on the USS Mississippi as a Lieutenant. After he decided to leave the military, he worked for Western Auto and McMahan Furniture Stores. He was the Regional Manager for McMahan's Furniture in the Imperial Valley for many years. In 1969, Art and his father purchased Tri City Furniture in San Jacinto, CA. He successfully ran that business until he retired in 2005.
Art is preceded in death by: his wife of 54 years, Marian Asper; his parents Aaron and Mary Asper; and his sister Eloise Eastlack. He is survived by: his daughter Karen Asper Jeglin (Marvin Jeglin); his son Alan Asper; and his daughter Heather Asper Swanson (Ken Swanson). He is also survived by his numerous grandchildren: Marvin Jeglin (Naureen); Alan Jeglin (Kim); Ariel Jeglin Copado (Alex); Elisa Jeglin (Brian); Rhiannon Jeglin; Lilith Jeglin (Alec Sanchez); Aaron Jeglin; Maxen Jeglin; Andrew Asper (Tori); Leanne LeFave (Thomas); Ronan Swanson; and Nolan Swanson.
Art also left 7 great grandchildren, who brought him much joy and entertainment. They are: Arabella Jeglin, Daric Jeglin, Scarlett Copado, Alejandro Copado, Fenris Jeglin, Nairah Jeglin, and Genevieve Asper.
Arthur also left behind many other people who called him Grandpa and he loved them all unconditionally. You know who you are.
The most important thing to Art was his family. He loved his family more than anything. His passing has left a huge hole in our hearts. We will miss his humor, patience, and his unconditional love and support.
Services will be held at the San Jacinto Cemetery on January 26th, 2023 at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers or donations, the family requests that you laugh with your loved ones and hug them just a bit longer.
We will miss you forever, tell your stories, and keep your memory alive. You were so loved.
