Arthur Navarro

Arthur Navarro was a remarkable man. He was remarkably kind, bright, brave, resilient, calm, and loving. In his last days he was surrounded by the loving family he created, and the legacy of that love remains as a testament to the incredible husband, father, uncle, grandfather, and great-grandfather all knew him to be.

Arthur Navarro passed away peacefully at his residence in Hemet, California on Monday, November 27, 2017. Arthur was born Thursday, October 16, 1930 in El Paso, Texas. He was the son of the late Jesus Navarro and the late Concepcion Munoz. Arthur was raised with his seven siblings, Elisa Reyes, Jorge Navarro, Enrique Navarro, Francisco Navarro, Steve Navarro, David Navarro, and Esther Luna.

At the age of 18 Arthur joined the Air Force where he spent time in both England and Germany. After he was honorably discharged from the Air Force, Arthur met the love of his life, Maria Magdalena Fong in 1953. They were married on June 22, 1954 and spent 63 joyful years together. He is survived by Magdalena and their four wonderful children, Marco A. Navarro, Sergio A. Navarro, Ana M. Salomone, Andy Navarro plus ten grand-children and nine great-grand-children.

Arthur and his wife, Magda, were considered by all those who knew them as the "perfect" couple, modeling what marriage, love and dedication to family should be. They enjoyed all of life each day together. They liked to escape to their timeshare near Lake Havasu, enjoyed time at the nearby casinos, and loved spending time with family. Arthur loved to travel and, in fact, travelled around the world several times as a Communications Systems Engineer for Teledyne Systems installing and maintaining the Aircraft flight recorder (Black Box) base computer systems at all the major airports worldwide.

Arthur was always so positive and always wore a contagious smile on his face. He enjoyed golf with his friends and sons. He was caring, generous man supporting the VFW service group, disabled veterans, underprivileged children and law enforcement. He loved all type of healthy foods including good cheese, red wine and all desserts. His children remember his two favorite axioms for living life: "Don't put off for tomorrow what you can do today" and "Always finish what you start". Arthur personified in words and deeds, "Family First" and one grandson, got a tattoo with La Familia es primero" as a physical reminder of this paramount principal for life.

Arthur Navarro lived a full life. He was one of those people with a huge heart overflowing with love that touched everyone he met. He will be missed by many. He was an amazing husband, father, uncle, grandfather and great-grandfather. Arthur spent his entire life caring and providing for his family, which made him a hero and a role model to his children.
