

Born Wednesday, April 1, 1936 in Greenwood, South Carolina, he was the son of the late D.J. Johnson and the late Macy Edwards Johnson and the husband of the late Lucy Johnson.
Bobby attended Cal State University Los Angeles where he earned a Master's Degree in Philosophy. He also played halfback for the University of Virginia Cavaliers. He worked more than 30 years as a plumber in the school district system.
He served proudly in the U.S. Navy and was awarded two Purple Hearts for his service during the Vietnam War.
In his free time, he liked to go fishing, bird hunting and bowling, and he enjoyed watching NASCAR races, and was a passionate Dallas Cowboys and Anaheim Angels fan. He also liked to hang out with his best friend, his dog, Hugo.
Surviving is son, Ray Meier, daughters, Tammy O'Guinn and Laura O'Guinn, grandchildren Kyle Meier and Tyler Meier.
A visitation will be held at the Miller-Jones Mortuary Chapel, 1501 W. Florida Avenue, Hemet, CA, on Tuesday, Sept. 11 from 10 a.m.-noon. A service will follow the visitation. Interment will be in Riverside National Cemetery.
