Buddy Oliver Gwin was born in LaFlore County, Oklahoma on November 22, 1927. His parents, Thomas Raymond and Ollie Mae were blessed with eleven children. Buddy had 10 brothers and sisters; Floyd, Ray, Jessie, Albert, Charlie, Mart, Mary, Liddie Mae, Dorothy, and Joe Wesley (JW). They were all born and raised on their family farm in Wister, Oklahoma.
At the age of 16, Buddy got his first job delivering ice cream for a local dairy. He later went on to join the Army during World War II and then the Army Core of Engineers. He served his country proudly and honorably.
On October 14, 1952, he married the love of his life, Lola Dean. Buddy and Lola relocated to San Francisco, California and bought their first home in Redwood City. They went on to move to San Mateo where they lived for more then 30 years; from there, they moved to Manteca, and lived there for more than 20 years, and they eventually followed their daughter to Murrieta, where they have lived for the last 15 years.
Buddy loved his family and worked hard to provide for them. While he lived in San Mateo, Buddy started and ran his own commercial tire business for more than 22 years. While working hard, Buddy made sure to make memories with his family. He loved the outdoors and taking his family on camping trips and became an avid RV'er, so much that he and Lola ventured across the U.S. in their RV.
Buddy O. Gwin passed away in Murrieta, California at the age of 90 on December 6, 2017. He leaves behind his loving wife and 3 children (Jerry, Thomas, and Sharon), 2 grandchildren (Philip and Krisitn) and 5 great grandchildren, as well as many other family members and dear friends.
Buddy will be greatly missed, but all of the love and memories shared with him, will be held close to the hearts of those who were fortunate to cross his path.
