Carolyn Kay Gibson, 83, of Hemet, California, passed away on December 30, 2024. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Carolyn’s life was a testament to the love she shared with those closest to her.
Born on February 15, 1941, to Delbert and Wilma Henson, Carolyn grew up with her siblings in a family that instilled in her the values of hard work, kindness, and deep family bonds. She was predeceased by her parents; her brothers Roy and Jerry Henson; her sisters Gloria Jean Hill and Joy Curry; her son Darryl Gibson; and her grandson Steven Lofing.
Carolyn is survived by her husband of 65 years, Walter, and their children Ed, Rick, and Cherie. She was also a proud grandmother to Kelli, Ricky, Eric, Brian, Valerie, and Darryl, and a great-grandmother to Steven.
A longtime resident of Hemet, Carolyn dedicated herself to God and her family. Carolyn was a woman of deep faith, known for her unwavering love of God and her role as a faithful servant throughout her life. She was a woman of extraordinary strength and character, always putting others’ needs before her own. Whether she was offering a helping hand or sharing words of wisdom, her warmth and generosity left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her. Carolyn had a special way of making everyone feel welcomed and loved.
In addition to her role as a homemaker, Carolyn enjoyed the simpler pleasures of life—gardening, traveling, music and spending quality time with her children and grandchildren. Her home was always filled with the sounds of laughter and a sense of peace that only she could bring.
Though Carolyn is no longer with us, she leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and devotion that will continue to inspire and guide her family and all who knew her.
She will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
