Charles Austin was a loving husband, caring father, devoted grandfather and great grandfather, and a loyal friend. Survived by his beloved wife of 66 years Mary, two loving daughters Cheryl Klynn (Lee) and Linda Matkins (Ron), four grandchildren Ronnie Matkins, Shannon Johnson, Brett Klynn and Laurel Klynn and four great-grandchildren, Ashley Matkins, Kara Matkins, Caiden Johnson and Miriam Klynn. He had much love, pride and joy for his entire family.
He was a proud veteran of the Navy serving aboard the USS Saugus from 1944 - 1946 seeing action in the South Pacific, ferrying troops from the USS Saugus into battle on shore.
Resident of The Farm community in Wildomar for the past 20 years he was active in his community and participated in many Farm functions including 15 years on Crime Watch.
Member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3868 since 1963 serving as Post Commander and Quartermaster, as well as many other offices. He served as Sixth District Commander was a member of the District Drill team for 20 years.
