Grandpa, 
I’ve been thinking about you a lot lately and wish I could talk to you at least one more time so I could get to know you better.  You never did talk much, but you had a funny sense of humor and a unique way of showing your love. I always knew you loved my brothers and I, even though you’ve never really liked socializing you would always show up on holidays. I will always remember that one Father’s Day we spent together at that one Mexican spot you liked in Santa Clara that looked like a hole in the wall but it was the best. One thing is you loved your Mexican food and you definitely passed that down to Dad and he passed that to me. 
Today I felt the need to look up your memorial page because I got a little stuffed animal in a surprise bag and it’s name happened to be Charles. It made me feel like you were popping in to tell me to keep going and life will be ok. I know life wasn’t easy on you, but you never complained. Even when sick, you never once complained about pain. You didn’t complain so much to the point to where Dad had to tell you to call us if you need because you didn’t want to bother anyone. You were never a bother, I’m sorry if you ever felt that way. I wish I was there more. I’m sure you understand what I was going through with my mother, and wouldn’t hold it against me. I hope you saw me when I got to visit your plot at the memorial. I love you grandpa, I hope you’re resting well.

My Dad
My Dad, He was my hero, but I think every little girls daddy is her hero, I remember him teaching me morse code that he used during his time in the Navy, I just wish I could remember any of it now.  When ever he would be working on the cars out in the front of the house, I would always be out there bugging him and learning, to this day I can change my own oil in my car because of him. plus other things.  I used to always tell him on our outings that if he got a book, I was buying me some clothes, and you know my Dad, always a book in hand. I love and miss you Daddy.

My Uncle Charles
As a kid my family would travel to Blythe to visit my Aunt Louise and Uncle Charles and cousins Charles Jr., Diana, Pat, and David.

I remember that Uncle Charles always wore steel toed boots and I was so fascinated by the boots. I could not understand how when I stomped on the toes he did not feel the pain. It became a game that I would play with him everytime I would see him I would stomp on his boots.

Uncle Charles was always so patient with me. I have thought of him so very often over the years. I will always remember the fun times we had and his patience with me and my childness.

Even though life changed and I no longer got to see him, he has always had a special place in my heart and memories.

RIP Uncle Charles I love you very much and will always miss you.

In loving memory of my grandfather, Charles Eddy Sr.:

There were the years when I was only 5 years old where Grandpa would take me out to Carl's Jr., a fast food restaurant that is still in business, almost every day. He and I were the only ones together during those early times in my childhood. We also went to parks, and did things as a family with me, him, and my dad altogether. Eventually, time had passed, and I was already in the phases of my life where I was starting to grow up as a person, and going to my favorite fast food places with Grandpa have now become a memory.


As a gamer, my grandfather was around during the early video game days when the Atari was out, but I can never recall him owning an Atari, but he did own an NES system though it was a later model. He was there when the first PlayStation and the Nintendo 64 came out. Luckily for me, his NES system is now with me. Therefore, it has a new owner with life within it. The games I remember playing with him on it are: Dragon Spirit - The New Legend, Crystalis (Made by SNK, and it's a bit like Zelda), as well as the two well-known games, Metroid, and Zelda II - The Adventure of Link (Which was my first Zelda game to play on the NES). His favorite Game Boy game was definitely Tetris as he was mostly a Type B person in terms of music. By the time the Nintendo GameCube was out, however, Grandpa had a place of his own since my father and I had a new family. At least he got his chances to see some of the newer systems including the Wii U.

My grandfather was always a person who wanted his personal space. He was hardly in pictures my family took, but he was such a wonderful man in my life nonetheless. I'll never forget those days where he and I would go alone and do things, whether it was eating at Carl's Jr. everyday, or just going out doing family things. One memory or another, he will be missed dearly.

As of today, the funeral is still being arranged by my uncle Charles, which is also my grandfather's name. It will be a very long drive to get there, but I must see my grandfather no matter what.

Rest well in Peace, Grandpa Charles. You will always have a place in my heart, even above the clouds and beyond the stars.
