

Charles Douglas Hopkins, age 62, of Moreno Valley, California, passed away Sunday, June 9, 2013, in Moreno Valley, California. He was born on Tuesday, August 29, 1950 in Norfolk, Virginia to Charles Thomas Hopkins and the late Helen Lizzie (Cotton) Hopkins. He was the loving husband of Sharon Hopkins for over 31 years. Charles was a Master Sergeant (Msgt) with the USMC; he retired after 21 years of faithful service. He was a Vietnam Veteran. He enjoyed nature, the outdoors and camping. His hobbies included martial arts, collecting lighthouses and researching Native American history. His signature gift of always helping others and being compassionate will never be forgotten. He will be greatly remembered by his infectious smile. He was "Easy like a Sunday morning".
Those left to mourn his passing, but cherish his memory are his loving wife, Sharon; his son Michael Thomas Hopkins; his #1 pride and joy; siblings, William Bernard Hopkins (D'Lisa), Norfolk, Virginia, Charles Thomas Hopkins, Philadelphia, PA, Gina Hopkins Davis (Curt), Philadelphia, PA and Martina Hopkins, Philadelphia, PA; and several nephews and nieces. He is preceded in death by his mother, Helen Lizzie Hopkins and brother Thomas Alexander Hopkins.
