Christina was born October 30, 1924 in Owen, Indiana, to Gladys and Morris Leland Asbury. She married Charles Edward Underwood in 1947.
In her younger years she worked for Eli Lilly; packaging motion sickness pills for soldiers during WWII. Later she worked a few years as a Secretary for a moving and storage company in Long Beach, CA, then several years as a Secretary for a music instrument company in Long Beach, CA.
Christina was a woman filled with spunk and spirit. She loved her "stories" on television, and her cooking shows. She was an avid crossword puzzle solver and would work her puzzles from the newspaper each morning. She was supportive and fun and enjoyed eating hamburgers and fries or Kentucky Fried Chicken while playing a good game of UNO or Solitaire. Other than loving her family she loved to read and was a voracious reader. She would often be caught with her nose in a book, and later in her life reading her Kindle. Christina loved reading so much that she gave the gift of reading to adults in The Hemet Public Library's Literacy Program where she served many years as a volunteer teacher/tutor helping others find joy in reading as well.
Christina is preceded in death by her loving husband Charles Edward Underwood. She is survived by her son Michael Underwood, 3 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great- grandchild. Services will be at Westminster Memorial Park in Orange County. In lieu of flowers please donate to Arbor Hospice in Hemet, Ca..
