Cora Pearl Benson

Cora was born in Long Beach, CA. on October 25, 1923, to the late Floyd Leonard and Lotus F. (Young) Christ/Crist. Brothers Victor and Stanley preceded her in death.

Cora was married to Robert A. Benson, USN Retired, for 65 years. He preceded her in death in 2011 at age 89. Cora grew up and lived in Long Beach until her marriage. Cora traveled with her husband and children to Hawaii, Guam, Japan, and the west and east coasts of the U.S. during his service in the U.S. Navy. In their retirement, they moved to Golf Communities in Florida and Arizona then finally settling in Sun City, CA. Cora devoted herself to raising her children and enjoyed her many experiences through all of her life journeys. She also worked for J.C. Penney Co in Lakewood, CA.

Cora leaves behind a daughter Pamela Wilson (Cosmo) of Sun City, CA; a son, Robert A. Benson, Jr. of Kaunakakai, Hawaii; Grand-Children Michael C. Wilson (Kristen) and William R. Wilson (Arlene) and three Great-Grandchildren, Lauren, Benjamin, and Abraham, and her “BFF” June Wigton of Mission Viejo, CA.
