Part of the enjoyment of going to DJ's over the years, were my chance meetings with "Core" and Joan, and in the past few years, Core was a fixture for greeting me, from the counter almost every Thursday when I would meet my "breakfast buds from EMWD".   A real "gentleman" who seemed to always have a sunny disposition.  Cornelius was such a wonderful treasure to our Valley!   To Grace:  I did not reciprocate, like you did for my Dad, (to attend Core's service) as I had not heard of his passing.  All you Schouten's have my sincerest condolences. My sister Linda married his son Dennis back in 1982 when I was 9 years old. Cor, along with his wife Joan, has been part of my life since then. I’d see him at family events every now and then throughout the last 37 or so years. What I’ll remember most about him is his kindness. He was always so kind to me. And he was a storyteller. It seems every story he told ended with some sort of punchline that would leave him chuckling. Cor was a good, kind-hearted man. It was an honor knowing him.

I was so fortunate to be able to experience 31 years of life with him and his stories and his sense of humor. It hurts me to know that the younger grandchildren and great grandchildren won’t get to experience what I got to.....I love you so much grandpa my new  heavenly angel upstairs :point_up_2::skin-tone-3:
