

Curtis Earl Hobbs Jr. was born on June 29th 1948 in Houston, Texas t the proud parents of Curtis Earl Hobbs Sr. and Margaret Frances Brown (Hobbs). At a young age the family moved to Los Angeles, California. Curtis attended elementary, middle school and graduated from Manuel Arts School in 1966. He continued his education at Southwest College by receiving a degree in Criminal Justice. Curtis believed in Jesus and the salvation that he brought.
Curtis served in the United States Marine Corp. in 1966. Where he was deployed to serve in the Vietnam war. He was honorably discharged in 1973 and received several metals and awards.
Curtis worked for Los Angeles Unified School District where he retired after 30 years.
Curtis still wanted to work so he began working at VA hospital ensure that the Vets that served his country received all their benefits. Curtis was also a member and past Commander the American Legion Post 14. He was a legion for 40 years as a service officer and held various positions between Legion post 252 and Legion post 14.
Curtis loved fast cars and skating. In 198 he met the love of his life Dorrena While skating at Hollywood Skating rink. They were married in December of 1969 and lived in Los Angeles California. in this 51 years of marriage they had 3 children. Once they retired they moved to Romoland, California where Curtis raised cattle with his grandson and traveled with his children all over the United States attending BPIR Rodeos which he also participated in his younger years.
in the 70's Curtis was part of the Funky Vans of Compton. Where he was named the Undertaker. Everyone know that name and that burgundy van and when it showed up it was going to be a fun time.
Curtis was an honorary member of the LA Deuces Motorcycle as a non-active member but participated in all activities for 20 plus years. Curtis can truly say he enjoyed his life and didnt miss out on anything.
Curtis is survived by his loving wife Dorrena Hobbs, two sisters Marian Hale, Rhonda McNeil-Duhart (Thomas), two sister-in-law’s Annena Herndon (Jesse), Felicia Flournoy (Thoms), two daughters Neysha Laskey and Nichelle Hobbs, Two Sons Curtis Earl Hobbs III( Jameka) and Justin Hobbs, 29 Grandchildren, 28 Great Grandchildren and hots of nieces, nephews and cousins.
