Danny William Anderson, was born on January 23, 1958, in Lynwood, California. He was the sixth child of James Thomas Anderson, Jr. and Jannie Marie Herndon, who both preceded him in death. His oldest brother, James Thomas Anderson, III, also preceded him in death.
Danny's family moved from Los Angeles to Perris, California, in 1965. He attended Val Verde Elementary School, Mead Valley Elementary School, Perris Jr. High School and Perris High School.
Danny attended Rhinehart Acres Baptist Church, where Dr. Briggs A. Williams was the Pastor. Danny was baptized at Rhinehart Acres and sang in the choir. He previously attended Guiding Light Baptist Church and Pastor Harold's Ministry. During his last days he was a member of Lake Providence Missionary Baptist Church where Rev. Kenneth Johnson is the Pastor.
Danny worked for more than 30 years in the asphalt and paving business until his health failed in 2006. Danny never married or had children, but he always said that he had so many nieces and nephews that he didn't miss having his own.
In 2006, Danny was diagnosed with throat cancer. Although the doctors told us that he wasn't going to make it, Danny said that it wasn't his time to go. Through prayers and with the help of his big sister, Mei Ling, Danny won that fight and flourished for 10 more years. In 2016, the cancer returned and Danny fought his last fight. He was cared for by his sister, Mei Ling Anderson, and received the same love and affection that he received from his parents.
He was known as "Uncle Dan" by his nieces and nephews, "Boom Boom" by his brothers and sisters, and "Dan Tanner" by his close friends. He lived his life on his own terms, loved reading his Bible and loved God.
He leaves to cherish his memory, four sisters, Betty L. Shapiro of Glenn Heights, TX; Brenda (Craig) Moore of Norwalk, CA; Mei Ling (Renee) Anderson of Riverside, CA; Terri K. Anderson of Red Oak, TX; Tommee M. Anderson of Riverside, CA; one brother, Louis (Theresa) Anderson of Perris, CA, two brother-nephews, Michael T. Young and Gilford E. Young, and one sister-niece, Kelly K. Young.
Danny had a kind heart and good spirit. Whenever you think about Danny, remember him dancing and laughing. At his brother James's homegoing service, Danny wrote a letter and in it he said, "If you were to ask Tom Tom where's Mama and Daddy, he'd say in heaven. So, if any one was to ask me where's Tom Tom, I can say with Mama and Daddy in heaven."
Now Danny has joined Mama, Daddy and Tom Tom in heaven. As Danny would say, "Sho' you right..."
23rd Psalm
The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
He leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul:
He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake...
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil: For thou art with me;
Thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies;
Thou anointest my head with oil; My cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life,
And I will dwell in the House of the Lord forever.
