Darrell son of John and Lillian Adams grew up in Whittier Ca. He was the second of 4 kids. Cindy Butterfield, the oldest, Cherry Heath just 13 months younger and Jenny Porter the youngest. Typical southern California childhood, he played a little baseball and the family went camping in the summer and up to the snow in the winter.
After high school (Monte Vista in Whittier) he went in the Army and served in Vietnam. Just days before he was to come home his company was hit and he ended up with shrapnel in his leg. Not a deterrent for Darrell and he proudly displayed his Purple Heart and ribbons for all to see.
Darrell loved his family and enjoyed being with them as much as he could. His oldest son Jason has two boys Jacob and Jared, while Brandon has both a boy Wesley and a 1 year old girl Maliyah. Darrell would make the trip to Bakersfield to watch Wesley play soccer. Taking Jacob and Jared camping and fishing was always a fun trip.
He enjoyed gardening and always said it would be fun to work at Home Depot just in the gardening department.
Darrell and his wife Aracely loved to travel and last year took a trip to Paris and the Holy Land. They were also building a house in Guatemala and made a few trips a year to visit with family. Darrell was generous and he got the respect of Aracely's family just by being himself.
Did someone say Denver Broncos? Darrell and his sons Jason and Brandon had a special bond with football as long as it was the Broncos, if they couldn't be together when the game was on they talked at half time and went over the plays.
Darrell you will be missed but not forgotten you are in our hearts forever.
