

After battling diabetes for most of her adult life, Djuan died in her home in Murrieta at 12:08 p.m.
Djuan was born in New Orleans on May 3, 1964. She was the second child of Adam Joseph Banks Jr. and Delores Louise Armstrong-Carter. As a child, she was known to be an independent thinker who demanded to do things on her own.
Continually recognized as an honor student, Djuan excelled academically while also participating in track and field, color guard and varsity cheerleading at El Camino High School in Oceanside where she earned a diploma in 1982.
As a single mother, and immediately following the birth of her third daughter, Djuan received LVN certification from the Maric College of Medical Careers in San Marcos on Sept. 5, 1991. She continued to have a very successful career granting her the luxury of owning two homes in Temecula.
Her hobbies included reading, shopping and spending time with her family. She advocated free thought by continually advising those she loved to not let society's stereotypes impede on their success.
At Djuan's request, she will be cremated and her ashes scattered over a warm place with the help of her family members.
Djuan is survived by her daughters, Megan Jones, Courtney Jones and Ryan Jones; her mother, Delores Banks; her brother, Adam (Kristy) Banks III; and two sisters, Karen (Ravenel) Wimberly and Robbin Banks.
She was preceded in death by her father USMC Retired Vietnam Veteran, Adam Joseph Banks Jr.
