

Donald Condit, 83, of Hemet, passed away Monday, January 17, 2011 at Devonshire Care Center. Born Friday, February 18, 1927 in Hyattsville, Maryland. He was the husband of Nancy Colaianni Condit. He served in the Navy from 1944 until 1947. He was a veteran of World War II. He was married 64 years. He grew up on a tabacco farm where he picked and dried tabacco. He was a fisherman and loved the casinos. He loved anything to do with the Navy and firefighting. There were many Odessa Destoyer Escort Conventions that Don and Nancy attended throughout the years. He could not get enough books to read regarding these two subjects. He enjoyed reading the paper cover to cover. He also liked to read firefighting magazines and read maps. He and his wife traveled in their RV to see family many times in Maryland. Surviving is his son, Donald S. Condit of Ft. Worth, TX and his husband Steven Rains; brother Wally "Skip" R. Condit; sisters Gay Hamm, Mary Stugdale and Linda Owens. Four grandchildren DJ Condit, Anthony Condit, John Paul Condit and Daniel Condit; great grandchildren, Bruno Condit, Lorenzo Condit, Antonia Condit, Ina Condit, Cole Condit. Donald was preceded in death by two sons John Condit and Paul Condit. Arrangements are being handled by Miller-Jones Mortuary, Hemet, where family will receive friends on Sunday, January 23, 2011 from 11:00am to 12:00pm followed by funeral service. Interment will be at Riverside National Cemetery.
