Donna Jean Lowery

Born November 17th 1926 in Chippewa Falls Wisconsin, passed away November28th 2013 (Thanksgiving) in Hemet CA, surrounded by family. The oldest of 7 children. Donna and her husband Gene (married 62 years), moved to Hemet in 1982 from WA state. Together they built The Venture Inn restaurant at State and Stetson in Hemet. Then opened another one in Sun City. They were also very much involved with Ramona Café and Catering at the old Ramona Lanes, Chevy's Diner and the Elks Lodge kitchen, before retiring in 1996 . Donna was preceded in death by her husband Gene in 2009, their son Bill in 1982 and their beloved Pomeranian "Nikita" in 2012. She leaves behind their daughter Lorrie Geurds of Hemet, grandchildren Jessica Nard (Scott) of Hemet, Nicholas Geurds (fiancé Sara Snow) of Hemet, Anthony Geurds of San Diego, Angelina Spencer (Matt) of Vancouver WA, Jody Pearcy, Brandy Ponce, Mandy Lowery and Dusty Lowery all of Idaho. In addition to a stepson Ron Burch (Willene), numerous great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and 2 sisters Idabelle Fisher (Ron) of Ferndale WA and Lola Nelson of Marysville WA. Mom required total care the last couple of years and was so greatful to her family for providing that care so she could remain at home. Thank you Nick, Jessica, Tyler, Nathan, Garrett, Scott, Sara, Janet and friend Theresa. I would also like to thank Dr. Carvalho (her Dr. of about 30 years), and Charter Hospice (especially Alex LVN). There will be a celebration of life at Lorrie's home at a later time. After that she will be inurned with Dad at Riverside Natl Cemetery. Mom is loved and missed so much.
