Doris Merlene Koran, age 82, of Temecula, CA, passed away Thursday, September 17, 2020, at Decedent’s Residence in Temecula, CA. She was born April 26th, 1938 in Arkansas to the late Olen McDowell and Geneva McDowell. At age one, the family moved to Fallbrook, California, where the family worked together on a ranch harvesting and packing avocados. Doris met a young Marine, John Koran Jr., at church in Fallbrook in 1954. The two love birds married in 1955 and shared over 65 loving years together (29 in Temecula Valley). Doris enjoyed playing bingo (with her good luck ladybug), sewing, crocheting, working on crossword puzzles, and cooking for her family. Her prize dish was her tacos as family and friends would request them often. Most of all, she cherished and loved her family. Doris was big-hearted, yet strong-willed and even a bit sassy. She was not afraid to speak her mind and give you her opinion. She is preceded in death by their son Joseph and daughter Debbie, brothers Olen, Bobby, and Joe, and sister Shirley. She leaves behind her loving husband John Jr., son John III and wife Cynthia of New Bern, NC, daughter Cindy Koran of Temecula, CA, daughter Samantha and husband Matthew Sanchez of Village Mills, TX, son-in-law Leo Blanco of Grantsville, UT, brother Frank McDowell of Fallbrook, CA, 13 amazing grandchildren, and 20 adorable great grandchildren.
