Doris Louise Schorse

Doris Louise Schorse of Sun City, California was 90 years old when she entered eternity on Thursday, February 2, 2012. She entered life on Thursday, June 30, 1921 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the daughter of the late August Leifer and the late Minnie Leifer.

Doris graduated from Cedarburg Wisconsin High School in 1938, where she was the Valedictorian of her class; she also attended the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee.

She married Richard Schorse in Milwaukee on February 24, 1945 while he was on leave from his WW II military service in Europe. The family moved to California in 1952 and lived in the Orange County area before moving to Sun City in the late 1980's. They moved to Kingman, Arizona in 2004 but, preferred the climate in Sun City where they returned in 2010. They have been members of Faith Lutheran Church in Sun City and now attend the Living Hope Lutheran Church in Wildomar, California.

Doris is preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Robert Leifer and two sisters, Jane Kilwine and Marion Hinds.

She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Richard; 3 daughters, Susan Jane Mendez and her husband John, Deborah Kay Harper and her husband Jerry and Lauren Scott Swalberg and her husband Matthew; 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren..
