

Dorothy Eileen Ressa passed away on March 14, 2018 in Sun City, California at the age of 90. She was born January 24, 1928 to Valentine and Josephine Vouk in Detroit Michigan. She married the love of her life, Henry Ressa on July 20, 1946 after he was honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy having served on the submarine tender Aegir during World War II. They enjoyed 60 wonderful years of life together.
They resided in Warren, Michigan until Henry retired. As a young family, they enjoyed family time at the cottage in Port Huron. They took numerous memorable family trips around the country. Eileen created an impressive collection of beautiful ceramic figurines, many with elaborate detail and enjoyed decoupage.
In 1983, they moved to Sun City where they enjoyed an active retirement. Both were dedicated swimmers and were awarded the Presidential Sports Award for swimming 1,000 miles. They truly enjoyed their community and time with friends and family. They were shuffleboard and lawn bowling enthusiasts for many years. did a little square dancing and were active in various other clubs.
After Henry's death in 2006, Eileen was involved with The Red Hats, The Butterflies, Delta Theta Chi sorority, and the Women's Club. She enjoyed getting together with her friends for cars, bunco, lunch, movies, shows, and shopping! She traveled abroad with friends and her daughter, Sandra, and devoured books.
Eileen is survived by her children Donald (Michelle) Ressa of Houghton Lake, MI and Sandra (Brad) Hinkson of Temecula, CA; grandchildren Noah (Sara) Ressa of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Erika Ressa of Orlando, FL, and Christopher (Lynn Tallez) Allen of Temecula, CA. She was blessed with great- great grandchildren Zoey, and Desmond Tellez Allen, Temecula and Asher Ressa, Fort Lauderdale.
Henry and Eileen will be interred together at Riverside National Cemetery.
There will be a Celebration of Life on Aoril 11 at 10:30 at St. Vincent Ferrer, 27931 Murrieta Road, Sun City, CA. In Lieu of flowers, donations my be made to Disabled American Veterans at dav.org or Alzheimer's Foundation of America at alzfdn.org
