Dorothy was born on February 18, 1916, in Wabash, Indiana. She came to Redlands with her parents: Lutz and Laila Rettig and brothers: Brooks and David, in 1919. She attended Redlands schools and graduated from RHS I 1934; and the U of Redlands, in 1938. She moved to Hawaii in 1938. Worked in Pearl Harbor and was there during the attack in 1941. In 1986, she married Fritz Irwin in Hawaii. They relocated back to California in 1991. She moved into PV in 1998. She is survived by two step-children and many local Redlands family members.
A Life Celebration will take place here in the Plymouth Room on Tuesday, July 2, at 11:00 AM. The family has asked everyone to dress Hawaiian on that Tuesday!
