

Dwight Darwin Harris passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2019 in Hemet, California. He was born on Monday, January 11, 1926 in Council Bluffs, Iowa, to his parents, John and Grace Harris. He entered the U.S. Navy in 1943. He later went on to marry Charlotte Harris and together they had three children. Dwight and Charlotte spent 50 wonderful years together up until Charlotte passed in July of 1999. He later met his companion of 18 years, Maxine Bell. After 36 years as an Electronic Engineer for the railroads, Dwight retired. In his retirement, Dwight and Maxine spent time together travelling all over the United States via bus tours and cruises. They also took trips to Europe. One of Dwight's biggest hobbies was being a mason. In fact, he built his own home in Idyllwild with special rock work. Dwight was an amazing man who will be missed by all that knew him. He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Harris, his parents, John and Grace Harris, his brother, Chet Harris, his sister, Margaret Kramer, and his daughters, JoEllen Hunt and Alexis Cox. Dwight is survived by his companion, Maxine Bell, his son, Eugene Harris, his caregiver, Kyle Conn, his sister, MayKay Turner, five grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at Riverside National Cemetery on Thursday, December 5, 2019 at 1:00 PM.
