Eddy A Mata Sr. 78, had an incredible life, with a 40 year work history at Southern Cal Gas Co. and Sempra Energy, passed away on April 19, 2025, survived by his wife Paulette, 3 children Eddy Jr. Angela and Chris, 5 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 6 siblings. Eddy was loved by all his family and friends, he will be greatly missed.
He always welcomed family and friends into his beautiful home. He continued to remodel his home and yard with updates and so many projects over the past 50 years. Eddy’s home was filled with immense joy, laughter, great food and love. He leaves us not with an empty space, but full hearts shaped by his grace.
Everyone that knew or meet Eddy could hear the goodness in his voice and see the kindness in his eye’s, because of his belief and faith in God. Eddy served 30 years as a Eucharist minister at Our Lady of the Valley. He was beloved by his fellow parishioners.
A rosary for Eddy will be held Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at 10:30 AM followed by the funeral mass at 11:00 AM at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 26340 Soboba St, Hemet, CA 92544. Followed by a reception at the church hall.
Eddy will be laid to rest in Our Lady Queen of Peace Cemetery , 3510 E Washington St, Colton, CA 92324. Thursday MAy 15th, 2025 at 11:30 AM.
