Edith Geraldine Maples passed away at the age of 89, on Friday, January 10, 2020, in Hemet, California. She was born Friday, February 28, 1930, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to the late Edward Ax and the late Pauline Johanna (Neibuhr) Ax.
Edith was married for 51 years to the love of her life, Chester Eugene Maples, before his passing in November 2002. Her beautiful smile lighted up in every room she entered. Edith was a strong, determined soul that “did it all.” She was loving, kind hearted and cherished every moment with her family. Edith was an avid reader, enjoyed crocheting and loved to travel around the world. She was very active in the community and belonged to the Red Hats, T.O.P.S (Take Off Pounds Sensibly), and Neighborhood Ladies Luncheon. Edith attended the 412 Church every Sunday for 15 years.
Edith is survived by her loving children, Gerrie (Arnie) Monreal, Robert (Sheila) Maples, and Richard (Patricia) Maples; her caring grandchildren, Kristi, Tim, Ryan, Corey, Joe, Mike, and Sarah; and her adoring great-grandchildren, Maya, Greysen, Eli, Ruby, and Esme. She will be missed by all that knew her and loved her.
