Eldon Lawrence "Larry" Merritt, passed away in his home surrounded by family and friends. He suffered a long battle with cancer that ended on November 30th. Larry was born in Holyoake, CO. He served in the Army from 1961-1963 as an airplane mechanic and expert rifleman. Larry found true love later in life when he met and married Bernita Lockwood in 1991. They spent most of their lives in Sun City, CA. Larry worked as a realtor focusing on ranches and property up until it became difficult to continue working and deal with cancer.
He is survived by his loving wife, Bernita; his brothers, John Merritt (Jane), of Wrenshall, MN; Conly Merritt (Betty), of Hooper, WA; , Robert Merritt, of Hernando, FL; his children, Tammy Rancour (Guy), of Red Bluff, CA; Conly Merrit, of Red Bluff, CA; Teresa Griffin (Reginald), of Lucerne Valley, CA; Jeanie Johnson (Darryl), of Marina, CA; Brandie Lee Morgan, of Burns, OR; Sally Brown (Curtis), of White City, OR; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles; his mother, Neva; his sister, Midge; and brother, Richard.
