Long before you were born, you owned a piece of my heart. My precious little grandson, I loved you from the start. 
With eyes that sparkle very bright, and your big glowing smile. You always can make me laugh, you helped make my life worthwhile.
I hope you knew that I was there for you, each and every day. I stood with you through good and bad, and helped in anyway. 
You gave me great memories, I cherish in my soul. Precious times I spent with you, they were worth more than gold.   
I am so very proud of you! You shined just like the stars. I’ll always love that baby boy. My Grandson, My Son, My Heart,

God blessed me with a Nephew, a Brother and a Son all in one. A handsome little boy who was my ring bearer in my wedding May 17, 1980. He was always a sensitive, caring, polite, intelligent and always motivated to learn something new. I will always love you “Big Eric” with my whole heart. Rest in perfect peace until we meet again. He made our family so happy and complete. Rest easy Eric in the arm's of Jesus with your loving mother.❤️

My dear cousin Eric, Big Eric is what the family called you, I am so happy you came to visit Birmingham last year, both times we were able to spend some much needed quality time together. We really enjoyed the laughs and good times, you will forever be in our hearts, with love, your cousin’s  Phylicia and Carter❤️❤️🕊🕊 and Grandma Vida.

I work with Eric at CRST. There was a not of day that went by that he did not tease me. according to him I was taking all the money, speeding past him on the freeway (in the opposite direction) and if not that he would snatch my door open and remind me not to be vulnerable. I had to be minding him that he shared the same work ethic and have it and that it was hard for me to stand out alone. He laughed and keep moving. Eric was full of knowledge. He was very instrumental in helping me navigate through my responsibilities And he had great input when I shared my future moves. Well I sign into a truck and I see his name. I have a flood of memories, all of them makes me smile. You know you're special when it's obvious that you're not physically present... Eric is a beautiful soul and I appreciate him as much as I miss. His, smile and his kindness has left a long impression on my heart. It was a blessing and a privileged to have experienced him.

Eric and I both worked at Amazon for a number of years together and I always admired his knowledge, leadership, and dedication to hard work. He was always the “go to” guy if anyone needed answers and always showed the utmost respect to his fellow employees. I was blessed to be able to call you a friend and spend the short amount of time we had together. You will be missed greatly brother!

Thanks Eric for all the talks and laughs we shared throughout the years.  You were always my favorite. Forever missed but remain in my heart!❤

I attended the UOP with Eric. He was the nicest man. Always calm, caring and so polite. He lit up the room whenever he walked into class. I'm so sorry for your loss. I feel sorry for all the people who will never get to experience his kindness.


The George Washington Carver High School of North Birmingham Class of 1968 extends our sincere condolences to our classmate James Trainer and the entire family. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Eric we love you and are so happy we spent time with you in May. Also, when you visited Birmingham it was so wonderful spending time with you.  Although I just met you, Carlos speaks fondly of you all growing up!! Wonderful memories that will last forever. First cousins for ever.  You will be greatly missed.  This has taught me to love and appreciate the people you love while you can.

To my very first nephew Tee Faye will miss you and your beautiful smile. My heart is at a lost and I don't know what to fill or think but I know our God makes no mistakes. Just looking back on the things and the times you had this passed year with your kids lets me know that God was getting you ready for his kingdom.
