Passed away peacefully on Monday, September 23, 2019 in Sun City, California; he was born on November 18, 1930 in Compton, California to the late William and Edith (Post) Porter.
After graduating from high school, Ernest joined the U.S. Air Force in 1950. He was a carpenter his whole life until retirement. He loved to fish, wood working, gardening and traveling. He was a member of the Sun City United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his children and their families, Michael Porter, Kenneth Porter, Judy Cable and Catherine Porter; ten grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Doris in 2013.
There will be a graveside service with military honors on Friday, October 4, 2019 at 10:00am at Riverside National Cemetery. A memorial service is pending at the Sun City United Methodist Church
