R.I.P. Esther Lydia Simon- Loving matriarch and widow of Ray Simon. Esther was born on 10-19-1929 and passed away on 2-10-2013. She is survived by her 4 children: Sheila Strickland, Sheryl DeJong, John Simon & Susan Atherton along with 12 Grandchildren and 13 Great-Grandchildren. She was born and raised in North Dakota, the 3rd of 13 children. She married Ray Simon on 12-30-1950 and together they raised their 4 children.They both became avid golfers and made many friends along the way. She loved to travel and had lots of memorable trips. Esther was always a fun-loving and active person who will be greatly missed by the many people who knew and loved her. There will be a celebration of Esther's life at Menifee Lakes CC on Friday 2-15-2013 at 11AM. Also, there will be graveside service on Thursday, 2-21-2013, at 11:00 a.m. at the Riverside National Cemetery on Van Buren Blvd. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to The Wounded Warrior Project at www.woundedwarriorproject.org.
