

Fred Harris, 95 of Hemet, California passed away on Friday, November 16, 2012, at home. He was born Tuesday, April 24, 1917 in Yenia, Ohio, he was the son of the late Roy Harris and the late Edna Crail Harris. He served as a SV-6 in the Navy from 1944 until 1946 as a ships cook. Fred worked for Pacific Bell Telephone company for over 35 years. He loved Dixieland Music and was known to travel the southland and all over the US and Canada to be part of Dixieland music. He also was known to shake a leg and could dance. Fred like to dance at the local Elks Club and on Saturday nights at Sierra Dawn. After retirement he did pick up the game of golf and seemed to enjoy being out with his friends. His family describes him as friendly and out going and always he had many friends to visit with. Fred like to keep up with the news and read the paper and watched news while it was happening. Surviving are sons, Fred and Roy Harris, 5 grand children; 10 great grand children; and 2 great great grand children. Services are pending with interment to be at Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, CA. on a date and time to be determined.
