Gaetano Manno

Peacefully surrounded by family, Gaetano Manno, 79, passed away on December 12, 2019, the Feast Day of Our Lady of Guadalupe, at his residence in Winchester, California. Gaetano was born on December 2, 1940 in Castellammare del Golfo, Sicily, Italy to his late parents Gaspare Manno and Rosa DiBona.

During his younger years, Gaetano joined and proudly served the Italian Navy and visited several historic parts of Italy and Europe. Gaetano immigrated to the United States in 1965 where he met and married the love of his life, Maria Elena (Vaca) Manno. After finally winning her over, they were married on July 1, 1968 and spent fifty-one amazing years together and were inseparable. He loved taking his wife out to Las Playas in Tijuana, Mexico, to his car races (he loved Ferraris), to soccer games, and he loved his daily espressos.

Gaetano was a proud, amazing Sicilian man who was loving, caring, giving, and family oriented. He loved his family more than anything else in the world, but completely blossomed once his grandchildren were born. He spent many years following his favorite Italian National Soccer Team known as L’azzuri, and even attended one of their Championship games, which he enjoyed to the fullest. He was a very strong-minded man who loved his country, he loved western movies, and loved to cook his favorite seafood and pasta dishes, and owned a Pizzeria for many years. Gaetano was a man of God with a strong faith and loved singing in the choir.

Gaetano is survived by his lovely wife Maria Elena, his wonderful children; Gaspare Manno (Andrea), Rosemary (Cary) Brooks, Gracy (Marco) Ibarra, Mario Manno; his brother Domenico Manno; his beautiful grandchildren; Gabriella, Alyssa, Nate, Julia, Monica (Snuggles), and Rylei. Gaetano was a beautiful soul, a great husband, father and grandfather, and a true friend to those who knew him. He will be greatly missed.

Following after service a reception will be held at the Manno/Brooks residence.
