Geraldine Mary (Gagne) Pace, 89, born on 15 January 1935 in Lawrence, Massachusetts to Joseph and Louise Gagne, passed away peacefully on 31 January 2024 in Sun City, California. She was a dedicated Navy wife who was ambitious, driven, loving, stubborn, headstrong, an adventurer, and a great cook. Most of all, she was our mom.
Gerry devoted over 40 years of her life to a career as a Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA), providing care, comfort, and compassion to countless patients. Her dedication to the medical field left a lasting impact. She will be remembered for her unwavering commitment to healing as well as the name she lived up to, “Queenie”, given by her co-workers.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, John Thomas Pace, both parents, and brothers J. William “Gig” and Leonard “Lenny” Gagne. She is survived by her sister, Toots Marie Christofferson, and brother, George Gagne, as well as her children: Kelley Louise Pace, Matthew John Pace (Elizabeth), and Allison Theresa Rapa (Steve). Geraldine's legacy extends to her cherished grandchildren: Weston David King, John Alexander Pace (Cerah), and Ethan John Rapa. Additionally, she was blessed to witness the joy of being a great-grandmother (Gigi) to Cole Andrew Pace.
Gerry’s life was marked by a genuine love for family and friends that touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She had an uncommon bond to all God’s creatures great and small, and it is well known that they had a love for her. Her nurturing spirit and dedication to family, friends and all animals will be remembered fondly by those whose lives she enriched.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that, if desired, donations of time or money be made to a local Animal Shelter to help care for God’s great creatures.
Rest easy, Mom. We find solace in the countless memories of our family on the farm in Wisconsin and the many years in between you spent as our mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. May God forgive that you may be a bit late to meet your creator, as you will undoubtedly be at the Rainbow Bridge visiting for some time.
