

Gerelene Harris Martin was born to Melvin and Oneida Harris, April 1, 1952 in Lawrence County, Alabama. She graduated from George Washington Carver High School in Montgomery, Alabama. She attended Alabama State University for 4 years as a member of the ROTC program. There she received her Bachelor of Arts Degree. Upon graduating, she joined the United States Air Force as a Lieutenant Officer. She was promoted to Captain in the US Air Force and served her country well for 11 years. She retired from the Air Force in California and became a Federal Employee for many years. Gerelene accepted Jesus Christ at a young age and joined Rebank Missionary Baptist Church in Alabama. Her relationship with Jesus was very important to her. She became a member of Park Avenue Missionary Baptist Church for many years. She served as a deaconess, and was a member of the choir. Her son Paul Martin, Jr. was the joy of her life. She loved him unconditionally beyond measure. She leaves to mourn her passing; her son, Paul Martin, Jr.; two sisters, Elizabeth and Eddie Catledge of Lawrenceville, Georgia, Deborah and Lonnie Woolridge of Grovetown, Augusta, Georgia; two brothers, Billy Don Harris of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Percy L Harris, of Huntsville, Alabama; 6 nieces, 9 nephews, and a host of relatives and friends.
